What does my runner need to bring to practices and meets?
Runners should have a good pair of running shoes, a water bottle labelled with a name and layers depending on weahter. All runners will be given a t-shirt to wear to practices and a uniform shirt for meets. I also recommend long socks and bug spray as most of the courses are run 'off-road' through grass and dirt.
Is it mandatory to attend both practices each week?
We realize that this may be a 2nd sport for many of our runners and, therefore, like to keep the program flexible. Although, 2 practices a week are recommended, it is not required in order to participate in the meets. If you know that your runner will consistently not be able to attend one of the weekly practices, please let the coaches know in advance.
What happens in inclement weather?
Like most outdoor sports, a rainy day will not cancel an event. Be prepared to take home muddy runners! Lightning and other extreme weather will result in a cancellation or delay. In those cases, you will be notified through email and/or text.
How can I volunteer to help?
We are still in need of volunteers to make this program a success. You do NOT need to be a runner to be a volunteer. We need course monitors who will be positioned along the course to make sure the runners stay on course. We also need people to help with timing. If you are interested in volunteering, you can register as a volunteer through the registration tab of this website.
Who do I contact if I have any questions?
